From a young age, Camil Bérubé possessed a strong entrepreneurial spirit and a deep curiosity about the world around him. Born the eldest son in an extended family in Arvida, in Quebec’s French-speaking aluminum region, he developed early on a sense of responsibility, independence, and determination.

 

At just 16 years old, Camil joined the Canadian Navy, driven by a desire to explore the world and broaden his horizons. A few years later, determined to perfect his English and continue discovering Canada, he hitchhiked across the country to Vancouver at the age of 18. There he spent several formative years, developing his interests in the stock market and poetry—two pursuits that reflected both his analytical mind and his reflective nature.

Camil later pursued a career in academia and college teaching, where he shared his knowledge and passion for learning with his students. Yet his entrepreneurial instincts never faded. Eventually, he returned to the business world and founded OSANTS, building the company around the idea of sourcing high-quality parts from overseas for OEM partners.

More than a founder, Camil was a leader whose example shaped the culture and values of OSANTS. His integrity, curiosity, and dedication to service continue to guide the company today.

Camil passed away in 2010, surrounded by his family. Even in his final moments, he continued to inspire those around him with the words that best captured his philosophy of life: “Happiness is to serve others.”

His legacy remains at the heart of OSANTS.
